Access to clean and safe drinking water is a fundamental right, yet many rural communities in district Baghpat of Uttar Pradesh suffer from severe water contamination due to industrial pollution in the Krishna River (Kali Nadi). High levels of pollutants in the groundwater have led to rising health issues, including waterborne diseases and cancer in nearby villages.
Why This Fund is Critical?
Contaminated Water Crisis – The Krishna River (Kali Nadi) is heavily polluted with industrial waste, making groundwater unsafe for consumption.
Health Hazards – Consumption of polluted water has led to an increase in cases of waterborne diseases, kidney problems, and cancer in the region.
Children at Risk – Many school children lack access to safe drinking water, affecting their health and ability to concentrate in class.
Sustainable Water Solutions – Industrial-grade RO plants will provide continuous access to clean water, reducing dependency on unsafe groundwater.
Project Breakdown – How the Funds Will Be Used?
Installation of Two Industrial RO Water Plants (One in a school + One in a public location) – ₹3,00,000.
High-capacity filtration systems to purify toxic groundwater.
Storage tanks and distribution taps for easy access.
Maintenance & water quality testing for long-term sustainability.
